will have 11 fall teams 10 boys 1 girls, 7 full sided and 4 small sided teams.
Registration fees were submitted to MNJYSA on 7-21-04 and team packets are
expected with in 2 weeks.
New Teams were automatically requested for flight 15
(or lowest available)
Existing teams can check their flights by logging on
to www.MNJYSA.org
The snack stand maybe constructed for use this fall
season. It will be located on the Soccer Field side of Kenneth Ave by the new
electrical service.
The lighting for both small and Large sided fields
have been installed and we are waiting on Public Service Electric and Gas to
connect the service. A maintenance agreement executed by the Borough of South
Plainfield has been negotiated with Quality Electric. The Agreement is for 10
years.
Lighting Contractor cut Irrigation wires to Small
sided field. It was decided if the cost is small then the club would not seek
reimbursement from the contractor
We will ask the town if the SPSA can park near the
Recycle / Compactor area in order to
alleviate congestion when soccer and football games are going on
simultaneously.
With the advent of the new field lighting the girls
Varsity and Junior Varsity teams have been scheduled to play night games on
9-10, 9-17 & 9-24. The club expects the fields to be available to South
Plainfield Soccer Association U-19 Alliance and outside teams such as the Boys
Varsity and JV teams. All requests must go through the board. The board will
consider the playing condition of the fields, Tom Hardy will be consulted to
check for conflicts, and all games scheduled will be subject to cancellation
due to inclement weather.
Children under 14 are not allowed to attend the
referee training course. Paul Baldasarre will find out if this is true.
Update 7-24 Per Paul Baldassarre: The minimum age
for a grade 8 referee class is 14 years old by class start date. There is a separate
class for a grade 9
referee .
If any younger player would
like to be a referee they can take a class for
grade 9. They would be able to referee MNJYSA games up to age U-14. South
Plainfield is hosting a grade 8 referee class only.
Coaches clinic is scheduled for 8-26 7:00pm at the
Pal or Kenneth Ave Fields All coaches and interested parents are requested to
attend.
Field Duty is 8-28 8:00am to approximately 2:00pm
depending upon the turn out. Major projects for this falls field duty include
repairing the Back Fence and Painting the Container
The Club is trying to establish an official list of
all members e-mail address. The purpose of this list is to notify members in a
efficient way of up coming events such as camps, Clinics and trips.
Attendees were polled and it was determined
unanimously that it was better to sell candy instead of Pizza or Cookie Dough.
So this Fall’s Fund Raiser will be a Candy Sale. Christine Dispenzari
volunteered to help with the candy Sale (she volunteered when it was the Pizza
sale but we think the switch to candy will be ok with her).
Metuchen Soccer Club has a web Page that sell
merchandise. We may pursue this as a fund raiser
Coaches shirts will be white with green lettering.
This is due to the fading of the green shirts issued last year.
Preferences were submitted to USA for teams wishing
to keep their trainers or get new trainers.
Training Camp on 8-23 through 8-27
Soccer Squirts training for 3-5 year olds starts on
9-18 –04 and runs for 7 weeks
Senior Soccer Squirts training for 6-8 year olds
starts on 9-18 and runs 7 weeks
All money from Senior Soccer Squirts goes to the
club
Millie Hunt, Tracy Lundy and Sharyn Juge are organizing
the Parade
The permits have been applied for and the Club is
asking for a $10.00 commitment from each family. The feeling is if a family
give money they will easily get it back in food and entertainment but they will
show up because they paid money towards it.
Canning is the clubs biggest fund raiser. This year
canning dates are 9-23, 9-24 & 9-25. As in years past first crack at Friday
nights will be given to the U-8 team. It’s a great way to work off the Work
Bond.
Mandatory Coaches Meeting is 9-9-04 each team must
be represented
Officers were elected unopposed to vacant seats
Elected officials are:
Albert Vill - President
Bob Bichler -Vice President
Patrick Flanagan -Secretary
Meeting
concluded approximately 9:45pm
