Light refreshments were served in honor of the holiday season
- Meeting Minutes were reviewed individually and approved
- Financials-Most of the teams have not paid their training fees. The approximate value outstanding is $5,000.00.
- Teams have until January 17, 2007 to pay their training cost or they will not be registered to play in the Spring Season.
- Snack Stand-Ann Marie Ferrante spoke regarding the success of the snack stand and thanked all who participated and especially those who had the first shifts. Other items spoke about are:
- The need for a back up opening person. Someone who would open the snack stand up for the day when the Hotspurs, Fire and Bullets are away.
- The outdoor gas grill has problems; there were several grease fires. So we will try to take the grill back and get a weber.
- Would like to purchase self contained fryers
- We need to raise the work bond from $50.00 to at least $100.00 because quite a few people stated that we can keep their $50 bucks it is worth it to not have to do the snack stand.
- Field Status-There are several items that need to be done before we open the fields for the Spring season
- Goals need to be welded
- Goal anchors removed from Field 1
- Snack Stand Doors need security grates weld on so vandals can’t kick in the air vents on the doors
- Training- There are open spots at the Westfield Armory. Small sided teams will be getting training at the PAL on Sunday mornings
- Memorial Day Tournament- A small tournament was proposed for Memorial Day weekend.
- A hand out highlighting the tournament was distributed.
- Basically the tournament would be limited to 3 age groups. And the cost of the tournament would be enough to cover expenses with possible a very small profit to the club. The club would make money on snack stand revenue
- Recreation committee received the idea warmly
- The Football club was receptive to allowing us to use one of their fields
- A Referee assignor is mandatory but it can be our choice who we have as an assignor
- New Jersey Youth Soccer Assn (NJYSA) must be notified by Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer Assn. (MNJYSA) by Mid February
- Soccer Development Schools (SDS) will work with us to make this a success. The will help filter out teams that are over qualified for this tournament
- NJO is the Star ledger based web page where we could advertise this tournament
- Coaches Bag-Each head coach present at tonight’s meeting can pick up their equipment purchased with the Gracie movie income money.
- Each bag consist of Balls, Cones, Pinnies and Pug Goals.
- If a team leaves the club because of growing out of the club or because of the team disbanding the equipment must be returned to the club
- Pancake Breakfast-The South Plainfield Elks Lodge will host pancake breakfast and dinner fund raisers to benefit the soccer club
- There are two dates reserved for us so far
- 12/17/06 training fundraiser for the Storm
- 1/7/07 not claimed by any team fundraiser as of this meeting
- Three teams sold 15 tickets each
- The Storm will be servers
- Basket Bingo-No date set yet
- Canning Dates- Spring Season Canning Dates are March 8th 9th 10th & 11th Please make note of these dates. Teams can reserve a date on a first come first served basis
- Canning will be run out of the snack stand again this spring
- A new Canning Committee will be needed
