  1. Meeting Minutes for December 2006 were reviewed individually and approved by motion
  2. Financial Status- a hand out was distributed by Treasurer Teresa Ward.
    1. The Soccer Club has approximately $19,000.00
        1. $13,909.82 in the general fund and slightly over $4,000.00 in CDs representing Work Bond money.
        2. There are several individuals who still owe their fall training fees. There are also two teams who have not paid any of their fall training fees
        3. People may not realize the Soccer Club paid the training cost in advance of collecting the training fees. This was done to ease the financial burden on our members but now we need everyone who has an outstanding debit to pay it. The individual training fee is $60.00 per player. This fee doesn’t pay the training cost in its entirety. The club will still absorb about $20.00 per player in training costs.
    2. Tournaments- teams that participated in tournaments have not paid back the club which again paid the fees in advance of collecting the money. Each team is entitled to $200.00 per seasonal year for tournaments.
        1. This season several teams went to the Piscataway tournament and the club cut one check to the tournament to make this easy with the understanding that each tem would have to repay the club 150.00. Thus far the only team to repay this is the Storm.
    3. Winter Training at the PAL- This winter the soccer club paid the training cost to Soccer Development Schools to train the small sided teams indoors at the PAL. To date all of the teams participating have repaid the fees to the club (good job).
    4. Referee Checks- the ref checks from this past fall have expired and are no longer valid. If you have any please return them to Teresa Ward she will issue new checks in the Spring Season.
    5. Tax Exempt status- we are not yet tax exempt, but we are very close Teresa has been working on this since July and is just waiting to hear from the IRS to send us a form that we must fill out and return for the process to be complete
  3. Snack Stand- Ann Marie Ferrante spoke on the success of the snack stand and the need for some improvements.
    1. Requiring multiple participation dates if there are multiple children (from the same family) playing in the club
    2. Electrical improvements were discussed; more outlets, space heating ect
  4. Field Status-The To-Do- List is about the same since our last meeting. When the Spring arrives most of the items will be completed. Things like; Purchasing and installing the backstops and welding the goals, Welding grates on the snack stand doors will all be performed
    1. The Electrical permit was submitted to the town and as soon as we have a permit work will begin.
    2. Utility Bills will be paid by the Borough with the stipulation that the Borough feels the expenses are within a reasonable limit.
        1. If the bills are unreasonable they will give us a warning and then if we continue to spend unreasonably we will have to pay the difference.
  5. Training Status- There are two teams this year that will not be using professional trainers (SDS). They are The Rockets and the Magic. It was announce that we were going to try to pay for Spring training with the proceeds from the Memorial day Tournament and Basket Bingo Profits. That will not occur
    1. If the fact that these two events will not be used to supplement training expenses this spring then you need to let Al Vill know immediately as SDS is beginning to make their spring schedule
        1. The reason we will not perform this is the executive board decided that it would be better to hold the money from Basket Bingo and be able to tell the members how much training cost can be off set.
        2. The Memorial Day tournament will not be held due to lack of interest. IT will be reintroduced at some point in the future
        3. This coming spring Training will be paid for by the individual teams which can if they so chose run fund raisers
  6. Memorial Day Tournament- Canceled due to lack of participation
  7. Basket Bingo- is April 21 2007
    1. Each team is to get a sponsor to fill a basket
    2. This year we will only serve Coffee, Tea and Water. This is due to the fact that last year a large effort went into obtaining and then trying to sell refreshments for the people who were playing bingo. AS it turned out they brought their own snacks. That is ok but if that is the case there is no reason to have other refreshments available.
  8. Canning Dates are March 8th 9th 10th & 11th to sing up e-mail Paul Baldassarre with the time slot you would like to have for your team. First come First served
  9. Charity Care Fund-Ann Marie Ferrante spoke regarding that the Hotspurs and Fire undertook this holiday season. They adopted a needy family, well there was too much for the two teams to do to help this family out so they opened it up to the entire club. It was so successful that people outside the club also helped out. This project is going to continue as long as this family needs our help.
  10. Proposed By-Law Change- a By-Law change was submitted to the Executive Board in compliance with the By-Laws.
    1. The Proposal would effectively change Article VII- Playing Rules by clearly defining the process for trying out and playing up to an older age group.
    2. Much discussion was heard and it was decided by the person who proposed the change to develop some agreeable language and then reintroduce the proposal for approval.
    3. The general feeling was that a change would be good but the wording of the proposal was not agreeable to membership present.

Meeting concluded approximately 9:45pm
